Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not happy with Facebook, Google, and Microsoft: She recently slammed the tech giants for sponsoring a conference that promoted climate change denial.

On Monday, Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Chellie Pingree (D-ME), wrote a letter to the heads of Facebook, Google, and Microsoft, and asked that they show their companies’ support for research highlighting climate change’s negative effects, The Verge reported.

The lawmakers sent the letter after the tech giants sponsored LibertyCon, a conference that featured climate change denial panels. At the conference, a CO2 Coalition speaker led a discussion on how climate change’s environmental impact was exaggerated, prompting Ocasio-Cortez and Pingree to urge Facebook, Google, and Microsoft to reconsider their future sponsorships.

“We are encouraged that each of you have pledged to reduce your carbon footprint and have committed other efforts like pursuing renewable energy,” the two lawmakers wrote in the letter. “Disappointingly, though, the example you have set promoting sustainability and evidenced-based science is compromised by your implicit support of the session organized at LibertyCon.”

Even though the conference wasn’t only focused on climate change problems, there were other sessions that questioned if carbon taxes could be a good solution for global warming and other environmental issues.

Microsoft and Google provided comment on the lawmakers’ letter. However, Facebook hasn’t issued a statement yet.

“Climate change is one of the most important issues of our time, and our commitment to addressing it is unequivocal,” a Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge. “For the past decade, we’ve reduced emissions, invested in renewable energy, supported policies to address climate change, and enabled people around the globe to use technology to accelerate progress on this issue.”

A representative from Google also told Mother Jones that it sponsors organizations with different political affiliations: “Google’s sponsorship or collaboration with a third party organization doesn’t mean that we endorse the organization’s entire agenda or agree with other speakers or sponsors,” a Google spokesperson told Mother Jones in a statement.

It’s unclear if Facebook, Google, and Microsoft will continue sponsoring conferences like this in the future, however, Ocasio-Cortez isn’t changing her feelings on the matter. “We cannot allow the financing of misinformation campaigns to shape our democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Monday. “We can disagree on policy, but climate change is real. Period.”
