Kannur: People in Kannur can easily respond against corrupted officials in government offices. The Kannur district authority has empowered the public to directly report corruption to district collector with a new mobile app called ‘We are Kannur’.
MP PK Sreemathi inaugurated the launch of the corruption alert app and declared e-application facility, an online facility to receive online applications here on Tuesday.
About the mobile app
The public can easily reach out to the district collector with this app. Complaint related to any public office in Kannur can be filed through this app.
Only the district collector will have access to read the complaint and details of the complainant. After reviewing the complaint, he will direct the related departments to take immediate action.
People can download this mobile app from Google play store.
Apart from corruption complaints, the app also carries a set of services, including information about central or state government offices and educational institutions. Direct call or mailing feature is also enabled in this app.
National Informatics Centre has developed the app named ‘We are Kannur’.
Kannur wins best e-governance district award
The district won various awards including e-governance constituted by the state government. MP PK Sreemathi honoured district collector Mir Muhammad Ali at the function held at the collectorate.
Officials, volunteers, teachers and personalities who contributed to win the e-governance award were also honoured.
The district also won various awards for Map my home Kannur, M governance, Local Language and Content Development department, Best website, social media and e-governance, Facebook page of district collector and collector @ School programme.
