LAS VEGAS – Peggy Thompson never found out how her daughter, 12-year-old Brittany Payne, died. The young girl went to sleep and never woke up. So she looks at old photos and videos to remember her.
“It just makes you so happy. It kind of just takes you back for a little bit, Thompson said. “You can kind of feel a little joy for a little while and then you know it’s back to reality.”
In August, Thompson accidentally donated two cameras to the Salvation Army near Flamingo Road and Durango Drive. She didn’t realize it until recently, but she says videos of Brittany were on the cameras.
“There’s one where she’s singing the High School Musical songs because we were snowed in in Nebraska and we couldn’t go anywhere.”
Thompson is looking for an Hi8 Camcorder with a VHS-C tape and a Canon camera, possibly a UC900.
“I lost a lot of her photographs in a flood in a basement, and so nobody else in my family ever had a camcorder,” she said. “So, those were all the videos that anyone really had of her.”
Thompson has also posted a $200 reward hoping someone will come forward.
“I think I maybe have 10 photographs of her. I really, really want those back so desperately,” Thompson said through her tears.
Anyone who knows anything about Peggy’s missing cameras is asked to call 970-405-5356.
