Apple is currently seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated individual to work in the Cork Manufacturing Engineering team.
We are responsible for providing & coordinating manufacturing support, quality improvements, process improvements and cost reductions to all activities performed by Cork, EMEA & MFG DC operations. We work with other functions including production, test, quality, design engineering, US & vendors to provide accurate and timely resolution of issues associated within manufacturing. You will work closely with many other functional areas to facilitate the tactical day-to-day functions of the operation in the execution of KPIs. You will have the ability to work individually in a highly pressurised, multi-functional team.
Ability to travel internationally at short notice and for extended periods of time is a requirement for this role.
•Traditional Engineering knowledge & experience on process layouts, Industrial Engineering, Cycle Time analysis etc.
•Knowledge of Six sigma, CPK & GR&R
•Experience of CAD.
•Knowledge of CE Machine requirements, URS, FAT, SAT in fixture commissioning.
•Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
•Highly motivated self-starter, able to work on your own initiative, meet deadlines and able to handle multiple tasks.
•Strong leadership skills are essential, along with ability to operate comfortably in a fast moving and flexible environment.
•Relevant Industrial Engineering experience specifically relating to Lean Manufacturing, production support and quality
•Consistently identifies, initiates & drives continuous improvement
•Project management skills
Provide effective traditional Engineering support during sustaining production/NPI & the design, analysis, implementation, improvement of (new & existing) production systems & processes to enable the achievement of optimum levels of Quality, Cost & Cycle Time
Responsible for all enabling aspects of a process or system from cradle to grave
Primary focus will be on manufacturing performance, yields, daily production productivity and supporting key capital projects
Drive initiatives in the pursuit of quality improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency
Maximize the efficiency of production line & ensure effective labour utilisation
Ability to analyze & resolve engineering issues of a broad scope using independent judgment
Continuous Improvement & Lean initiatives. Drive quarterly lean & process improvement initiatives. Cost-effectiveness through process optimisation
Ensure proven process capability in place to meet new product introduction plans and manage System line readiness for prototype/validation builds
Trouble shooting, yield analysis, effective & efficient corrective actions
Establish & improve product standards (process /materials flows, Time Standards etc)
Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent, however, if you have relevant experience, you are encouraged to apply
